Shaykh Ibn al Qayyim, rahimahullaah:

If it is difficult for them to abandon sins, he should then strive to get them to love Allah by reminding them of His signs, blessings, kindness, perfection, and Loftiness. This is because the hearts are naturally designed to love Him, and if they become attached to loving Him, it then becomes extremely easy to abandon sins and to detach oneself from them.

Yahya bin Mu'adh said: "The intelligent one seeking the dunya is better than the ignorant one abandoning it."

The smart one calls the people to Allah from their dunya, and this makes it easier for them to respond to him. The zahid calls them to Allah by way of abandoning the dunya, and this makes it hard for them to respond, since it is very hard to pull someone away from the breast that he has developed his mind while suckling on..."

-The Worldly Life-

The Advice of Al-Hasan al-Basree to ‘Umar ibn ‘Abdul-‘Azeez

“Know that being thoughtful calls to good and acting upon it. And repenting from and regretting evil, calls to abandoning it. And that which will perish – even if it is much – does not outweigh that which is everlasting – even though seeking it is rare. And to endure short-lived difficulties that are followed by long lasting ease, is better than hurrying for a short-lived ease that is followed by ever-lasting hardship.

The More Humble You Are Before Allah...

From the words of Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimullah):

"...And the worshipper - the more humble, needy, and subdued he is before Allah - the closer he will be to Him, and the dearer he will be to Him, and the greater in status he will be to Him. So, the happiest of the Creation is the one who is greatest in servitude to Allah.

As for the Creation, as it is said: be in need of whoever you wish, and you will be his prisoner; be sufficient from whoever you wish, and you will be his adversary; be kind to whoever you wish, and you will be his authority...

The correct way to recite in your prayers (Salah) and in morning and evening supplications

By
Muhammad bin Umar Bazmool
Translated & Foreword

Foreword:
Are we saying your morning and evening Dua’ yet being afflicted by trials? This concise article may shed light on some questions.
Shaykh Muhammad bin Umar Bazmool says speaking about the correct way in which one should recite silently:
‘One must be aware concerning the conditions of reciting audibly and silently, the way in which some people pray with their lips closed and not moving their tongue until they complete their prayer. They do not move their tongues to recite whilst standing in their prayer. Although they are meant to be reciting but yet they do not move their tongues in remembrance, niether whilst in Ruku (bowing) or while standing up from it, nor in Sajood (prostration)  or as they come up from Sajood or while they sit in the Tashahood (sitting at the end of the prayer).

Shamsuddeen Muhammad bin Abee Bakr Ibn Qayyim aj-Jawzeeyah (d.751 A.H.) -Rahimullaah-  said:
‘Indeed Allaah mentioned ‘as-Sakeenah’ (Tranquility) in His Book in six places:
1) The saying of Allaah Ta’ala:
<< وَقَالَ لَهُمْ نَبِيُّهُمْ إِنَّ آيَةَ مُلْكِهِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَكُمُ التَّابُوتُ فِيهِ سَكِينَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ >>
<<  And their prophet said to them, Indeed, a sign of his kingship is that the chest will come to you in which is assurance from your Lord >>[al-Baqarah: 248]
2) The saying of Allaah Ta’ala:
<< ثُمَّ أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ سَكِينَتَهُ عَلَى رَسُولِهِ وَعَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ >>
<<  Then Allah sent down His tranquility upon His Messenger and upon the believers >>[Tawbah: 26]

“Every time you feel the loneliness of isolation, remember your companions who have preceded you and be eager to join them; and do not be concerned with others, for they will not avail you at all before Allah. And if they call out to you during your journey, do not turn to them, for whenever you respond to them, they will take you and set you in another direction.”

Advice from Imaam Sufyaan Ath-Thawree

….Beware of doing that which will spoil your deeds, and know that it is showing off that spoils a person’s deeds; and if it is not showing off then it is conceitedness- for you to imagine that you are better than one of your Muslim brothers, when in reality he performs more good deeds than you do; or perhaps he stays further away from that which Allah has prohibited than you do; or perhaps he performs his deeds with purer intention that you do. And even if you are not conceited, beware of developing a love for praise. Be ever so careful not to come to love other people’s praise of your good deeds, or the respect they feel for you and bestow upon you because of your good deeds. And beware of desiring that others should help you in your personal affairs just because they have become impressed by your good deeds. You surely claim (as does everyone else), after all, that you are doing good deeds only for the sake of Allah, well, then turn that claim into reality….
